LADIES NIGHT IN DOWNTOWN GLOUCESTER

(pix taken with my Blackberry at The Deborah Coull Salon. Note to self...clean the lens! Sorry they're so fuzzy!)

What a wonderful evening my mom and I had last nite wandering Gloucester's Main Street! Downtown was swarming with women. And from the looks of it people were spending! Last year it was cold and snowy. This year the rain held out until about 8:30 and we enjoyed a lovely evening, strolling from store to store, helping out the economy just a little bit, sipping wine, and snacking on other goodies (another note to self...the Rosemary Shortbread at Ned's are absolutely amazing!)! It was truly a festive night. We hit all of our favorites; Ned's Groceria, Stone Leaf, Pisces, Mark Adrian, Menage Gallery, The Bookstore, Life Is Good,Pallazolas, and Deborah Coull's salon! I only wish we'd had time to get further down Main Street to our other faves; Beth William's Studio, Present on Pleasant, Alexandra's Bread, Sage, Animal Krackers, Fields & Brown and the Common Crow.

We used a 1/2 price entree coupon from Wednesday's Gloucester Times to enjoy a delish scampi dinner at Passports. And of course everywhere we went we were serenaded by the wonderful strolling dixie land band and carolers! We bumped into old friends and saw our wonderful Mayor, Carolyn Kirk in attendance too!

Tomorrow morning we're off to Sugar Mags for breakfast. We're doing our bit to help out the local economy this holiday season. There are alot affordable little gifties for everyone on your list...without going off the island! Shop Local this year if you can!
