OUR SQUAM LAKE GETAWAY PART ONE

We've had a long winter. And it's been a tough April. We always love to drag out birthday celebrations! RK's bday was last month, but we're still celebrating. And we'll be celebrating until 7/18 when we go to see Billy Joel and Elton John at Gillette Stadium. This past weekend was RK's birthday getaway weekend...delayed til mid-April when the Squam Lake Inn in Holderness NH reopened for the season.

We had an awesome three and a half day vacation just two hours from Cape Ann. We loved this fabulous little inn run by Cindy and Rae. I'll post some pix of the Squam Lake Suite, the inn and the delish breakfasts someday soon! For now...I'm just posting some of the gorgeous views we experienced during this early Spring weekend! (note...early Spring means no tourists! Just us!) Check out the pic of the two of us at the top of the Rattlesnake Trail! Directly behind us...way down below us are the Rockywold-Deephaven Camps where I'll be in early June for the Squam Art Workshops. That'll be my view from my cabin! I cannot wait! We spent alot of time exploring Squam Lake and Holderness, but we also ventured over to our beloved Tamworth and hiked around there too. We made sure to visit the animals at Remick's Farm ...including a baby lamb named Phoebe!
