MY SUMMER VACATION-SQUAM ART WORKSHOPS--PART ONE

As i wrote a few weeks ago...i have not been a good blogger this summer...too much stuff going on. All good! Way back in early June i went to camp...art camp! And I had a blast!! Squam Art Workshops was five days of bliss...five days of heaven...five days of creativity....five days of fun. And it was oh so close to Cape Ann! The drive was a cinch...less than two hours. SAW is the vision of the fabulous Elizabeth MacCrellish. It's located at the history-filled Rockywold-Deephaven Camps in Holderness, NH--just under Rattlesnake Mountain...right smack on Squam Lake.

I'm going to let my pictures tell the story. Words cannot describe. Suffice it to say...i met amazing folks; the setting was glorious; i loved listening to lovelorn loons from the screened in porch; i tapped into my inner-creative; Jonatha Brooke sang beautifully; the food was healthy and delish; it was great spending so much time outdoors; there was ice cream at every meal; there was talent around every corner; my cabin was better than any five-star hotel; we didn't discover our claw foot tub til the 2nd to last day, we had an old fashioned ice chest & handsome men delivered ice daily; the lake was divine to look at...and even better to swim in; the workshops were top-notch; I received a framed gift i will treasure forever; I made a Catherine Slye Goody Bag, and a Betz White felted bag...and an Obama baby quilt...it was just tons and tons of fun every minute of every day. It was a truly memorable event...and a fabulous respite from the daily grind! I had so much fun that i'm going to go back in a few weeks...September 16th to 20th to be exact! It was all about fibercrafts in June. This time i will explore type & images, boxes & books! I cannot wait!!!
